A second teenager has been arrested in connection with a rape investigation on the canal towpath in Nuneaton.
On Tuesday (12 July) officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from Nuneaton on suspicion of rape. He remains in police custody at this time.
Detective Chief Inspector Teresa McKenna, said: “We continue to investigate this incident and have made an arrest yesterday.
“We are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone who hasn’t already been in touch to contact us.”
A woman in her 20s is understood to have entered the towpath by Borough Way just before 6.30 pm on Tuesday 21 June.
She was heading in the direction of Frank Street when she was approached by an unknown man who is reported to have raped and sexually assaulted her.
A 17-year-old boy from Nuneaton previously arrested on suspicion of rape has been bailed until the end of the month pending ongoing enquiries.
