TRADING
- Leicestershire Trading Standards have said that counterfeit toys can be a choking hazard for children.
 - They say to ensure your children's presents are safe and genuine by looking for signs like unofficial websites pretending to be real brands.
 
NHS
- Preparation work for a Day Case Unit at Hinckley and District Hospital is set to begin in the coming weeks.
 - Work will now begin at the site to remove asbestos from the building and this is expected to be completed by March 2025.
 - Whilst this is taking place the Leicestershire Integrated Care Board will be preparing a planning application.
 
NATURE
- A draft strategy to support nature and help it thrive in Leicestershire will be discussed by the County Council’s cabinet this week
 - It looks at practical actions to boost the area’s wildlife and natural spaces, how best to tackle habitat loss, and the effects of climate change.
 - If approved by the cabinet, the draft strategy will go out for public consultation in the new year.
