Nuneaton George Eliot Hospital’s Theatre nurse Sindy Heer, is hanging up her scrubs after 52 years’ service in the NHS.
Sindy joined the NHS when she was a cadet at 16 and was encouraged to train as a nurse.
She trained locally in Nuneaton and then worked in Leamington for a few years before settling permanently back in the borough. She has since used her experience to mentor student nurses and junior doctors, who have then gone onto become consultants or senior sisters themselves.
Theatre Manager, Paula Quinn said: “Sindy will be greatly missed by her theatre family and the George Eliot staff as a whole. She was an integral part of the team both for bringing up the team morale and in practice.
“We will definitely be having a party for her when it’s safe to do so as she deserves only the best for her retirement”.
