The government is expected to announce later today that zoos can re-open from Monday 15th June.
Twycross Zoo in Leicestershire closed its doors in March because of the coronavirus pandemic.
It costs over half a million pounds a month to keep the zoo operating and providing the care for their endangered animals.
Back in April, the zoo launched a donations campaign.
The zoo had hoped it would receive some financial support in the way of a grant from the Government but they say it does not support larger conservation zoos and is reserved to protect smaller organisations.
We can’t wait to welcome you back for a safe day out. We’ll let you know soon when and how you’ll be able to book a ticket to visit.
