Great Central Railway is looking for volunteers to help run it's Santa Trains this festive season.
The heritage railway company has been running Santa services at Christmas time for forty years but says this festive season it needs more support.
Great Central Railway runs 114 train rides with Santa during the festive period and 39 services to show visitors the Winter Wonderlights along the railway.
There are already 400 registered volunteers who carry out a variety of tasks including grounds maintenance, bar work, station maintenance and drivers but the Charity says they need even more to support the extra services running over the festive season.
The railway told Fosse 107 that profits made from its Christmas services go towards running the railway including utilities, coal, diesel, overheads and wages.
The Great Central Railway is the UK's only double track, main line heritage railway. It’s the only place in the world where full size steam engines can be seen passing each other. 2023 will see the 50th anniversary since the railway first ran as a heritage railway with various events planned throughout the year.
