At this time of year, baby deer are nestled in the bracken across the park.

Bradgate Park has warned visitors to stay away from young deer as it could be dangerous for the animal.

The park says that disturbing, moving or touching newborn deer can result in the baby being abandoned by its mother - which is almost always fatal for the young deer.

During this time of year, baby deer are often nestled in the bracken across the park, safely hidden while their mum feeds nearby.

The park rangers want residents to give all the deer space and respect - especially pregnant deer and new mothers and make sure dogs are under control.

Over 500 deer live at Bradgate Park.
