Police are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision.
Officers were called at around 10.25 pm last night (3 March) following a collision on A50 Markfield Road near Groby.
The incident involved a pedestrian and a black Ford Focus on the county bound carriageway around half a mile from the A46 roundabout.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, had been an occupant in a red Ford Focus travelling in the same direction.
She left the car and was in a collision with the black Focus.
The driver of the black Focus is not being treated as a suspect. The full circumstances around the collision are under investigation.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hawkins, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was travelling through the area, on either carriageway and may have seen the collision or the events leading up to it.
“We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a red Ford Focus which was travelling along the road at the same time or anyone who may have any dashcam footage which may have captured what happened.”
