Coco Gauff ruthlessly dismantled Karolina Muchova to reach the final of the Miami Open.

Muchova actually took a break to win the opening game. But from then it became a struggle for the Czech player to so much as register a game on the board.

Enjoying a home tournament in Florida, Gauff would not be denied. She stormed to victory in straight sets, winning 6-1 6-1 as she closed the match out with yet another break of serve.

It was her first straight sets victory in this tournament with Gauff hitting her stride now in the late stages of the competition.

"It feels great to be at home," Gauff told Sky Sports Tennis. "Today I was able to find that good balance of mixing it up.

"When I stepped on court today I felt like it was going to be a really strong match.

"I was just trying to fight for every point and we ended up with the scoreline."

She will meet the winner of Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina in the final on Saturday.

Sinner eases past Tiafoe

Jannik Sinner cruised past Frances Tiafoe to reach the semi-finals of the Miami Open.

Sinner further extended his record for consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 events to 30 as he swept past Tiafoe 6-2 6-2.

World No 2 Sinner - who had surpassed Novak Djokovic's long-standing previous mark of 24 earlier in the tournament - never looked back after breaking Tiafoe's serve in the opening game to dampen the partisan home crowd with a dominant display at Hard Rock Stadium.

"I feel like starting the match is very important. When you start by going a ‌break up, it gives you already a slightly good confidence," said Sinner, who won the title in Indian Wells without dropping a set.

"At the same ‌time, they might be very aggressive, so I try to stay as compact as possible with my shots.

"Also mentally, there can be some ups and downs on both sides, so I try to stay very calm and take the chances I can get. I think today that was the key."

The Italian will play either world No 3 Alexander Zverev or Francisco Cerundolo for a place in the final.
