A new season of lunchtime concerts at St Mary's Church, Hinckley starts at 1pm on Weds 4th March with Tenor Tom Stanyard and pianist Simon Lumby.
A new season of lunchtime concerts at St. Mary's Church, Hinckley starts on Wednesday 4th. March with two musicians both based in the East Midlands. Their concert will start at 1pm and last just under an hour. Lyric Tenor Tom Stanyard and accompanist Simon Lumby at the piano will present a concert of light classical music to include song cycles by two much loved English composers. Tom earned a music degree from Keele University in 2012 and later pursued a Licentiate Diploma in Singing Performance with the Royal Schools of Music in 2018. He currently studies with Alexandre Naomenko at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He has sung solos in oratorios and has performed scenes in operas. Simon studied at the Royal Northern College of Music having been a junior student at the Royal Academy of Music. Their programme will include 'A Young Man's Exhortation' by Gerald Finzi and 'Songs of Travel' by Vaughan Williams. Admission on the door is £4.50 for adults and £1 for students and children.
