Nearly 300 cases have been recorded since the end of May 2021.
Leicestershire County Council said that an average of 2230 children have been unable to attend school this month because they have had to self isolate.
The latest data which runs up to Friday (25th June) shows 2,602 children currently out of school due to isolation.
From the end May to now there has been 281 covid cases in schools - 46 teachers and 235 students.
77 schools have reported covid cases in the past month but none are currently closed.
Councillor Deborah Taylor, lead member for children and family services, said: “Since the end of May there have been 281 cases of Covid-19 infections reported in 77 Leicestershire schools. To put this into context, there are around 96,000 children who attend our schools every day.
“Schools have been continuing to put measures in place to prevent the spread of the virus and have been doing a great job at managing cases when they occur. Credit is also due to our children and young people who have taken home schooling in their stride when they have needed to self-isolate.
“We can, however, all play a part in helping to reduce the spread of covid-19. Half of the cases across the county are in the 30 and under age group, essentially those people who have not been vaccinated and those who have only had one jab. We are continuing to urge parents to be vigilant in checking for symptoms and following the guidance put in place by both schools and the government. It is still really important that we all remain cautious and learn to live with this virus, even as lockdown restrictions ease.”
The bubble system in schools is expected to be scrapped when step 4 of the roadmap out of lockdown goes head - which the government believes will be on July 19th.
