Andy Murray returns to the court to coach British star Jack Draper

Sir Andy Murray is back to coaching tennis a year after parting ways with career rival Novak Djokovic.

During the grass court season, Murray will now coach 24-year-old British tennis player Jack Draper.

It's his first role in the sport since he split with Djokovic in May last year.

Draper recently announced that he has split from British tennis coach Jamie Delgado, saying: "I am very grateful for everything Jamie Delgado has done for me over these past six months. He is a world-class coach and a great man.

"In the interim, I will continue to be supported by the excellent team at the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association), with the addition of Andy Murray, who will be supporting me throughout the grass court season."

Draper's world ranking has slipped to 50 ahead of Wimbledon, having struggled with injuries.

He's now withdrawn from the French Open because of a knee issue.

Draper and Murray were formerly Davis Cup teammates, with their only meeting on court in Indian Wells in 2023, where Draper claimed a third-round victory.

Murray retired from the sport after the 2024 Olympic Games, after winning three Grand Slam singles titles, two Olympic gold medals and one Davis Cup during arguably the most competitive era in men's tennis.

He also achieved a world number one ranking.

His return comes after Murray said in December that he was "disappointed" with Djokovic's results during his time coaching him for the 2025 Australian Open and three other tournaments.

"I look back on it and I'm glad that I did it," Murray said in an interview with The Tennis Podcast. "It's an amazing experience that I've had. It didn't last long, but I put everything into it."

Murray added he "probably didn't get the results I would have liked for him," but said: "It was a good opportunity because I felt I wanted to coach at some stage.

"If I didn't take it I might look back and think, 'It would have been really interesting, I could have learned a lot', or potentially regretted it."
