An 18-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for motorists with dashcam footage to come forward following a collision on the A47 in Hinckley this morning (Tuesday 24 August).
Shortly after 3am, police, the fire service and ambulance service were called to Dodwells Road following a report a blue Honda had collided with a lamppost.
Three occupants – two women and a man – were taken to the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.
One woman, who is 17, is being treated for injuries that are life-threatening. An 18-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man are being treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.
An 18-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. The A47 Dodwells Road remains closed from the roundabout while officers carry out further enquiries.
Detective Constable Kasie Carter, from the SCIU, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision occur, or who saw the blue Honda prior to it happening.
“The collision occurred close to an industrial estate and I would like to speak to any motorists who were in the area at the time, including lorry drivers, with dashcams installed in their vehicles.
“Anything you are able to provide could help our investigation.”
