A5 in Hinckley reopened after lorry hits bridge

The lorry overturned which caused the busy road to be closed for over 5 hours.

The A5 in Hinckley has now been re-opened after a lorry hit a bridge early this morning (10th June).

Officers tweeted that the road had been closed at 02:57.

National Highways reported that the 'lorry had struck a bridge and overturned' and diesel was said to be on the road.

At 8:47 National Highways: East Midlands confirmed on social media that the busy road had been re-opened.
