Fire crews have said the fire was started deliberately.

Officers investigating an arson in Hinckley are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police and the fire service were called just after 11 pm on Monday 14 November to a report of a Ford Transit van on fire in Strathmore Road, Hinckley.

The fire was safely extinguished and following further investigation, it was established the fire had been started deliberately.

As well as destroying the van, damage was also done to tools inside the vehicle and the front window of the owner’s house. No one was injured.

Officers are looking to speak to anyone in the area at the time of the incident and may have seen anything.

PC Neil Walker, investigating officer, said: “Please come forward if you were in the area of Strathmore Road at the time of the incident and saw something. Information you have could help with the investigation.”
