Chairman visits new social care home in Loughborough

The flats allow the residents to gain independence.

Councillor Dan Harrison, chairman of Leicestershire County Council, has attended the official opening of New Ashby Court in Loughbrough.

The two small blocks of flats have been refurbished to support adults with learning disabilities and adults aged over 18 coming into adult social care services.

Dan Harrison, Chairman of Leicester County Council, said: “These flats will be fantastic new homes for our Leicestershire Residents who need support to gain independence. It is so important that we can support our residents with additional needs.”

Supported living allows adults with additional needs to live independently, in a safe environment where all the help they need is on site.

New Ashby Court is the third new adult social care scheme opened by Leicestershire County Council this year.

Over the last 18 months the County Council has invested £5million in adult social care accommodation across Leicestershire.
