Charnwood Museum re-opens

Charnwood Museum will open its doors to the public again today.

The museum closed in late March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Staff were redeployed to other services within the Council and workshops and activities were converted for an online audience on the Council website.

A number of changes have been made to how the Museum will operate to fit within government coronavirus guidance, including:

• Opening days and times have been reduced. The museum will open Wednesday-Saturday 10am-12pm and 2-4pm
• You do not need to book before visiting. Small groups will be admitted to the museum at 15-minute intervals. Last admission will be at 11.30am and 3.30pm
• In line with government guidance, all visitors aged 12 and above will be required to wear a face covering unless you have an exemption
• Some of the interactive displays and gallery areas are temporarily closed
• A one-way route will be in place around the building
• Hand sanitiser will be available for your use while in the museum, but members of the public are encouraged to bring their own
• Access to toilet facilities will be signposted
• Access to the Queen’s Park café will be from Queen’s Park only
• Contact details will be taken on exit for Track and Trace purposes only.
