Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the A47 last night (Friday 17 January).
It happened at about 11.30pm when a black Hyundai Veloster, traveling from Leicester city centre, left the road and landed in a wooded area near to Peckleton Lane, not far from Desford Cross Roads.
The man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed throughout the night so enquiries could be carried out at the scene. It reopened at about 9am this morning (Saturday 18 January).
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or who saw the vehicle being driven before the collision. Anyone with dashcam footage is also asked to get in touch.
