The M1 was closed for almost six hours on Saturday near to junction 22 for Shepshed.
A driver has died after a crash which closed the M1 for six hours.
Police were called at 12.15pm on Saturday 20th January following a report that a blue BMW 330 had left the northbound carriageway close to junction 22.
The driver, believed to be a man in his twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The carriageway was closed between junctions 22 and 23 while emergency services responded to the incident. It was reopened shortly before 6pm.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Leicestershire Police on 101 quoting incident 278 of 20 January.
