Chris Buckler has been giving back to the community for over 20 years.

For years he has been doing good deeds such as leaving bread outside for his neighbours or delivering doughnuts to the local ambulance & fire station.

When Aldi heard he had been popping chocolates on car windshields in the car park of the Hinckley store, they 'knew they had to say thank you to Chris, on behalf of everyone in Hinckley.'

To thank him for all his kindness the Aldi team filled his car with hundreds of pounds worth of presents while he was doing his weekly shop.

An Aldi spokesperson said, "but we’re not stopping there, we want everyone to be a little more Chris this Christmas and do their bit for the community – and that includes us. We’ll be helping Chris give gifts to customers up and down the country throughout December, helping to make Christmas Amazing for Everyone."

A video made by Aldi shows Chris's emotional reaction to the act of kindness.

Aldi Amazing CHRIStmas

If you’re not from Hinckley, the name Chris Buckler may mean nothing to you – but to locals, he’s a legend. He’s been doing good deeds and giving back to the community for over 20 years, with no signs of stopping. Whether it’s leaving bread outside for his neighbours or keeping a stash of umbrellas in his car in case of a quick downpour – he really is someone special. He even spent his 70th birthday doing 70 good deeds, like making a doughnut run to the local ambulance & fire station and arranging some free pastries for locals. But when we heard he’d been popping chocolates on car windshields in our Aldi car park, we knew we had to say thank you to Chris, on behalf of everyone in Hinckley. So, after sneaking a spare key from his lovely wife Rosemary, the Aldi team quickly went to work filling his car with hundreds of pounds worth of Aldi goodies – from mince pies to pizza ovens – all while he was on the weekly shop. I think you’ll all agree, his reaction made it all worthwhile… But we’re not stopping there, we want to everyone to be a little more Chris this Christmas and do their bit for the community – and that includes us. We’ll be helping Chris give gifts to customers up and down the country throughout December, helping to make Christmas Amazing for Everyone. #RandomActsOfCHRIStmas #MakeChristmasAmazing
