Charnwood Borough Council and Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council will collect real Christmas trees from residents subscribed to the garden waste collection scheme.
As it is the twelfth night (January 5th) many people will be taking down their Christmas decorations.
Residents are being asked to dispose of their real / cut Christmas trees responsibly by taking them to local Recycling and Household Waste Sites or having them collected by their local council.
Charnwood Borough Council will collect real Christmas trees from residents subscribed to the garden waste collection scheme.
They will need to put the tree to the side of the garden waste bin at the edge of the property by 6 am on collection day.
Trees must be under 6ft (1.8mtr) in length and must be put out with garden waste collection (on your usual day) between 9th Jan and 20th January 2022.
Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council will collect real Christmas trees from residents subscribed to their garden waste collection service as part of the usual scheduled collections throughout January.
Trees must be cut into pieces no longer than 1m and placed into the garden waste bins.
This year, North West Leicestershire residents will need to put real Christmas trees inside their garden waste bins to recycle them.
The bin lid should be fully closed so trees may need to be cut down in order to fit. For safety reasons Christmas trees which aren’t in a bin will not be collected.
