Local people who've made a real difference to our communities in Nuneaton and Bedworth have been commended by the Mayor.
Awards were presented in the Mayor’s Parlour at Nuneaton Town Hall.
Several local people were recognised for their volunteering and charity work.
- Stuart Smith received the Borough Award of Merit for his generosity in making garden planters, tables, and wooden log stores to raise valuable funds for Zoë’s Place Children’s Hospice.
- Elaine Dunn received the Mayoral Award for her dedication in completing 50 years voluntary service in her role as Akela and Lead Section for Scouts.
- Geoff Grewcock received the Borough Award of Merit for his dedication to wildlife conservation through the Nuneaton & Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary.
- George Taylor Farren received the Borough Award of Merit in recognition of services to our community in improving experiences for staff and patients at George Eliot Hospital. Also, for his dedication as Chair of the Armed Forces Community Staff Network.
- Andrew and Jayne Sargeant received the Borough Award of Merit for their outstanding work in connection with the Nuneaton Carnival and providing valuable funds for local charities.
