A 28-year-old man has been jailed for three years and four months after admitting breaking into houses in Nuneaton and stealing car keys.

Andrew Barnes, of Tudor Road, Nuneaton, was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on Thursday (11 July).

The court heard that in April and May, Barnes broke into three properties in Nuneaton before stealing car keys in order to take the vehicles.

Barnes stole three cars from one address in Green Lane.

In other incidents he broke into homes and stole vehicles in Camp Hill Road and Queensway.

Barnes pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary, five counts of theft, five counts of driving without a license and five counts of driving without insurance.

DC Rav Gill from the Nuneaton Offender Management Unit said: "Barnes committed these crimes to fund his drug habit. He showed no remorse when interviewed by police."
