It's due to 'significant staff shortages' at the County Council.
The changes affect sites in Bottesford, Somerby and Shepshed, as the council is currently facing significant staff shortages caused by the coronavirus pandemic and a national shortage of lorry drivers.
The county council has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the changes.
New opening times will also be introduced at the waste site in Whetstone, which will remain open for five days a week.
Bottesford and Shepshed waste sites will be open until 6pm this evening (Friday) and is then to be closed temporarily until further notice.
The Somerby waste site is also temporarily closing from 16th August to allow for pre-planned improvements to be carried out.
The site, which is usually open on Sundays and Monday, is to close for the work to be carried out.
The Whetstone site has been open seven days a week, but it will be permanently returning to its former five-day opening cycle from 23rd August 2021 (closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
All other sites, including Loughborough's, remain open and no appointment is needed.
Councillor Blake Pain, cabinet member for waste disposal, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these closures will cause, and we’d encourage residents to visit our website and social media accounts for any updates.”
