It is still unknown when Bedworth Civic Hall will stop being used as a vaccine centre and usual events will resume.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is going to submit a bid for Arts Council funding to 'help explore the future of Bedworth Civic Hall.'
The Civic Hall is currently being used as a Covid vaccination centre and in February the council announced that it was suspending any upcoming events.
It is still unknown when Bedworth Civic Hall will stop being used as a vaccine centre and usual events will resume.
The Borough Council aims to secure funding that would enable the arts centre to operate in a 'financially sustainable manner rather than continuing to receive large subsidies from the Borough Council.'
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council leader, Cllr Kristofer Wilson, said: "We have approved a bid for funding to help explore how we can responsibly re-open Bedworth Civic Hall, to help make it financially sustainable for the long-term and reduce the current expensive subsidies to run the Civic Hall which are ultimately paid for by the hard-working taxpayers of this Borough.
“We want to send a message that creative arts have a very important part to play in the lives of people here in Nuneaton and Bedworth, and that we want to create the best opportunities for this activity to thrive in our Borough. As part of this we will continue to listen to local organisations and local residents, to make best use of their ideas during this process.”
