Read the full statement from the Steve, Mike and Mat Tyler about the future of the store in Loughborough.
Since 1922, Tylers (Chas. W. Tyler Ltd) has proudly served the people of Loughborough and the surrounding area. Over more than a century in business, we have continually evolved to meet the changing needs of our customers while remaining committed to the values and service that have defined our company for three generations.
In 1974, Tylers relocated to the newly developed Charnwood Precinct, where we have traded successfully for over 50 years.
As part of the planned redevelopment of the site into a mixed-use scheme incorporating student accommodation and retail space, we have secured an option to relocate into the new development once construction is complete.
As a result, our current store will close in January 2027 while the redevelopment takes place. Although this marks the end of an important chapter in our history, we look forward to the opportunity of returning to the town centre in the future and continuing the Tylers story in a new home.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the generations of customers who have supported us over the past 104 years. Your loyalty, friendship, and custom have been the foundation of our success.
We would also like to pay tribute to our dedicated staff, past and present, whose hard work, commitment, and professionalism have helped make Tylers such a valued part of the local community.
We look forward to welcoming customers during our remaining months of trading and thank everyone for their continued support as we prepare for this next stage in our journey.
