Residents are being asked for their views on plans to revamp Sidings Park in Loughborough.

The plans have been drawn up by Charnwood Borough Council, in partnership with Sidings Park Area Residents Association

Proposals include better access, a new footpath, replacement trees and extra play equipment and seats.

A new entrance off Sidings Walk could also be provided to allow easier access into the park.

The work will cost around £60,000 and is being funded by the council, as part of its programme of work to improve open spaces in the borough.

Councillor Jenny Bokor, lead member for Loughborough said: “I’m very pleased that we’re planning these improvements to Sidings Park.

“We’re working hard with local people to make the park an even better place for the community to enjoy.

“We hope the changes will bring more people to the park and help to support the great work of the community association."

Sidings Park, which is off Burder Street, is currently home to a play area and ball court.

Residents are being asked for their views on the plans and can have their say at: www.charnwood.gov.uk/currentconsultations
