We are being encouraged to vote for our favourite park in Hinckley.
It was recently announced that both Hollycroft Park and Argents Mead were awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award.
Last year Hollycroft Park was also awarded a People’s Choice Award – one of the top 10 parks in the country by the general public.
Both parks are listed in the online People's Choice Award, which gives people the power to decide the top ten parks from all of the Green Flag Award sites across the UK.
Councillor Bill Crooks, the Borough Council’s Executive member for Parks and Open Spaces said: "We are very proud to have once again been awarded a Green Flag Award for both Hollycroft Park and Argents Mead and last year was the first year that Hollycroft Park got into the top 10 parks in the country, a great achievement. In these difficult times I am sure residents and visitors have appreciated the green spaces on their doorstep so it would be wonderful if they could both be recognised. Both parks are very popular, regularly used for a range of activities for children and adults alike. I would urge Hinckley residents and visitors to take a few minutes to vote."
Voting closes on 25th November, with the top 10 winning sites announced on 3rd December.
Paul Todd, International Green Flag Award Manager said: "This year we have all seen the importance of our precious parks and green spaces. The People’s Choice Award is an opportunity to show how much your favourite park means to you. Make your voice heard and vote now."
