Some people chased the man and retrieved the pushbike.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Hinckley on Wednesday 26 March.
It happened in Hollycroft Crescent, Hinckley between 6.20 pm and 6.35 pm on Wednesday 26 March.
A 16-year-old boy was riding his bike when he was approached by an unknown man who pushed him off it and took it, riding off towards Wykin Road.
Some people chased the man and retrieved the pushbike but the suspect left the area. The boy did not suffer serious injuries during the incident.
Detective Constable Meg Sanderson, the investigating officer, said: “I’d like to speak to the men who were sitting in a parked car before retrieving the pushbike from the suspect as they may have information that could help my investigation.
“I’d also like to speak to anyone else who was in the area and witnessed the incident, particularly anyone who captured it on a dashcam, CCTV or doorbell camera.”
