Enquiries are still ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
The collision involved a black BMW car and a man, in his 20s, who was travelling as a passenger in the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers have now named the man who died after the collision as 26-year-old Kieran Andrews.
Kieran’s family issued the following statement: "Kieran was a loving son, brother and uncle to his nieces and nephews and will be sorely missed. Taken far too soon."
Another man travelling as a passenger in the vehicle was not reported to have suffered any serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to have left the scene following the collision and detectives made an appeal to locate the driver.
A man who is believed to have been the driver of the car has since contacted the police.
The 22-year-old man, of Leicester, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop following a collision. He has since been released on police bail.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
Detective Sergeant Ed Des-Chanelle, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Thank you to everyone who has helped us so far, both at the time of the collision and contacting us with information following our appeal.
“We continue to provide support to the family of the man who has sadly lost his life and our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision.”
