The A5 in Leicestershire is closed due to an accident between M69 at Burbage and Magna Park.
National Highways said the road was closed between the M69 and the A4303 at Magna Park near Lutterworth due to a serious collision on Sunday afternoon (13 March).
A tweet said it was "likely that the carriageway would remain closed for a number of hours."
Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
