Alan Moss Road in Loughborough was closed as police attempted to arrest a man wanted in connection with a number of offences.
Shortly before 6pm on Monday 13th July, officers attended an address in Alan Moss Road to carry out a planned arrest of a woman.
However, on arrival, they found a man was also present, who was wanted by police in connection with a number of offences. As threats were made, armed officers were deployed in the interest of public and police safety.
Alan Moss Road was closed while officers carried out the arrests, but later reopened.
The man, who is 28 and from Loughborough, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, burglary dwelling and theft and a serious sexual offence. He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
The woman, who is 38 and also from Loughborough, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. She has since been released on bail.
