Local services across the Midlands are supporting Children’s Mental Health Week.

Services across Nuneaton and Warwickshire are supporting Children’s Mental Health Week, which runs from 9 to 15 February.

This year’s theme, This Is My Place, from the children’s mental health charity Place2Be, focuses on helping children and young people feel safe, valued and that they belong — at home, in school, online and in their local communities.

Warwickshire County Council and its partners are encouraging children and young people to talk openly about their mental health and wellbeing, and reminding families that help is available.

Local services say a strong sense of belonging can help young people feel more confident, supported and able to cope with life’s challenges — both online and offline.

Warwickshire County Councillor George Finch, Leader and Portfolio Holder for Children and Families said: “Children’s Mental Health Week is an important reminder that every young person deserves to feel they belong – at home, at school, online and in their community. When children feel safe and connected, they are better able to grow in confidence, express themselves and seek support when they need it.”
