A number of fallen trees have caused disruption to rush hour across the area.
There were reports of trees blocking roads in the following areas:
Kilby Road in Wistow near the maze
Ridings, Rothley, near Rothley Court
A6, between Oadby & Great Glen, Southbound side.
Cropston Road between Anstey and Cropston
A511 Ashby Road both directions from the Boundary Roundabout to Hepworth Road (Woodville High Street)
There were also reports of standing water on roads across the area and the A50 Bradgate Hill and Markfield Road was closed in both directions from A46 (Groby) to Leicester Road (Church Roundabout, Markfield) because of flooding.
East Midlands Trains also reported issues with Tuesday rush hour saying that damage to the overhead lines was causing delays on services:
From East Midlands Trains - "There is damage to the overhead electric wires at Luton between Luton and Luton Airport Parkway and is disrupting our trains on the Sheffield/Nottingham/London routes. Specialist engineers are heading to site, we are awaiting an estimate of when they will arrive."
