This is the first time that East Midlands Ambulance Service has declared a Critical Incide
East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) declared a critical incident on Monday 6 January 2025.
They said that they put out more ambulance resources than ever before.
A combination of significant patient demand, pressure within local hospitals, and flooding across the East Midlands, led to this level of escalation.
