Temporary traffic lights are by the BP garage.
Emergency sewer pipe repairs are currently underway on the A5, Watling Street, by the BP garage.
Temporary two-way traffic lights have been put in the area.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "We know this is a busy, well-used road so we’re really sorry for any disruption. We're asking people to please allow extra time for any journeys in the area over the next few days, just in case of delays.
"Our engineers are working as quickly as possible to complete the repairs and reopen the road fully.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding."
