Hinckley Teaching Assistant Braves the Shave for Pancreatic Cancer
A teaching assistant from Hinckley has gone the extra mile to raise money for pancreatic cancer research by shaving her head in an emotional fundraiser.
Sharon Swan took part in a “Brave the Shave” on 23rd March marking five years since the loss of her mother, who sadly passed away just six weeks after being diagnosed with the disease.
The event was hosted at Hinckley Parks School, where pupils and staff came together to support Sharon, cheering her on and helping raise awareness of one of the UK’s deadliest cancers.
Pancreatic cancer remains the deadliest common cancer in the UK, with survival rates still extremely low.
So far, Sharon has raised an incredible £1,900 towards her £2,000 target.
Congratulations to Sharon on her bravery and fundraising achievement.
