Aimee Williams and her fiancé Lewis Bourne hope their story following four animals who work together to save their money will inspire children to become savers.

A couple from Hinckley have become published authors after writing a children's book about saving.

'How Roommates Became Savers' is a rhyming story by Aimee Williams and her fiancé Lewis Bourne.

It tells the tale of how building societies were originally formed and follows four animals who work together to save their money.

Aimee Williams, said the story was inspired by where she works: "I had a chat with the CEO and he told me this really interesting backstory about Hinckley and Rugby and building societies in general and it really sparked sometime in my mind and I thought, I'd love to write and illustrate a book. I want to spread this message in a really fun, lively and accessible way."

The book is designed for children up to 7 years old and is written in a font specifically designed for readers with dyslexia.

'How Roommates Became Savers' is available in the branches of the Hinckley and Rugby Building Society.
