The A447 is shut between Hinckley Road and Stapleton Lane.
The A447, Ashby Road, will remain shut until Christmas Eve after a burst water pipe caused extensive damage.
Severn Trent Water has said they have agreed to extend the road closure with the local council as they need more time to get everything fixed.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: Once again, we know this closure is an inconvenience, and we want to thank everyone for their patience while our work is ongoing.”
On Wednesday, 17th December, residents were informed by Severn Trent about the burst pipe.
