He demanded the victim didn’t tell anyone.
Paul Harris had sex with the girl at her house following a night out in 2018 and then demanded that she didn’t tell anyone.
Detective Constable Kate Edge from the Warwickshire Police Child Abuse, Trafficking and Exploitation Team, said: “Harris had sex with his victim in the full knowledge that she was underage. This has had a terrible impact on the girl who has said she now struggles with relationships and sleeping.
“Harris showed no concern for her afterwards, being more concerned about what would happen to him if she told anyone."
The victim reported the attack to police in 2020 and a police investigation was launched.
Appearing at Warwick Crown Court on Monday (20 June) Harris, 29, was jailed for three years and 10 months after pleading guilty to sexual activity with a child.
Detective Constable Kate Edge, said: “The victim carried this burden with her for two years before contacting police. She has shown immense bravery in reporting to the police and supporting the investigation. We ensured she received support throughout and I hope she can take some comfort from seeing Harris behind bars.”
