Police respond to reports of double-stabbing in Quorn

Extra police patrols are being carryied out in Quorn following a report of a double-stabbing last night.

The cordon around the scene on Station Road, where the incident happened, has now been lifted. Officers are in the area carrying out CCTV enquiries to support the investigation.

The force received a report just after 6.15pm on Thursday 23rd April reporting that two men in their 20s had be stabbed.

When police arrived, the people believed to be responsible had left, as had one of the injured men – who is believed he has suffered a minor cut to his hand.

A second man was assessed at the scene and has been taken to hospital with an injury to his hand and stomach. He was taken to hospital and is continuing to receive treatment.

An investigation into the incident is continuing. No arrests have been made at this time.

Neighbourhood Policing Area Commander for Charnwood, Inspector Charlotte Dickens, said:

“I understand this will have caused some concern in the local area and my officers are in and around the village to offer reassurance to the community. If anyone has any information or details regarding the incident please speak with one of those officers or call 101 quoting incident number 558 of 23 April.
