There are two diggers installed in a sanded area.
New equipment such as a four-metre-high activity net has been installed at Hinckley’s Queens Park.
Children have tested out the equipment which is in the park close to the town centre.
The netted area is aimed at juniors and is surrounded by special safety surfacing. Toddlers and infants have also been able to play with new equipment, with two diggers installed in a sanded area.
Executive Member for Parks and Open Spaces at the Borough Council, Councillor Bill Crooks, said: “We have really enjoyed seeing young children enjoy the new equipment at Queens Park. It is a popular park among residents and families, so we were pleased that we were able to update tired, old equipment and replace it with something new.
“We hope that further improvements, such as replacing the current noticeboards, will be made to the park in the not-too-distant future.”
The new apparatus and its installation has been funded by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council’s capital and revenue budgets.
The new equipment was purchased to replace an old wooden climbing frame which was removed based on health and safety grounds.
The council are also planning to put in two new benches as well as new noticeboards.
