A new piece of play equipment has been installed in the recreation field on Hall Drive, Stoke Golding.
The inclusive roundabout, which can be used by both able-bodied children and those who use a wheelchair, was part of an £11,877 project managed by Councillors Nicola Smith and Sarah Beale of Stoke Golding Parish Council.
The project was made possible due to funding from Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council’s Parish and Community Initiative Fund of £5,938.50. This was supplemented by £1,000 from Tesco Bags of Help and £2,240.40 from S106 contributions from local developments, with the remainder being provided by the Parish Council budget.
With the weather improving, the roundabout will most likely become a popular feature at the play area on Hall Drive.
Executive Member for Rural Places, Councillor Kevin Morrell said: “This is a great addition to what is already a fantastic play area for the children of Stoke Golding. I am delighted that the Parish and Community Initiative fund has been able to help improve this facility.”
