Two pedestrians were taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision involving a car in Quorn. Police have arrested a 67-year-old man and are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
A 67-year-old man has been arrested following a serious collision in Quorn which left two pedestrians injured.
Police were called at around 3.33pm on Tuesday 18 August following reports of a road traffic collision on Loughborough Road, near the junction with Granite Way.
The collision involved a red Peugeot 3008 and two pedestrians – a man and a woman.
Both pedestrians were taken to hospital where they remain with serious injuries. The driver of the Peugeot was not injured.
The 67-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has since been released under investigation.
The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene but has since reopened.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses.
Police are particularly keen to hear from motorists who were travelling through the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or seen the Peugeot beforehand.
Anyone with dashcam footage which may have captured the collision or events leading up to it is also asked to come forward.
