A man who stabbed his friend multiple times in an attack at his Syston home has pleaded guilty to murder.

Kaylon Wilson, 21, told police he had been thinking about causing harm to 24-year-old Connor Black following an incident the previous week.

Connor invited Wilson to stay at his home in St Columba Way on the evening of Saturday 27 February this year. Whilst there he stabbed Connor repeatedly in the neck and chest.

He then called another person and sent a message to them on social media stating what he had done and admitted it when officers arrived at the scene.

Ambulance crews initially received the call from someone who Wilson had messaged to tell them about the attack. East Midlands Ambulance Service then called the police at 11:06pm.

At Connor's house Wilson answered the door and admitted to officers he had stabbed Connor. He had blood on his arms and hands. Connor was found upstairs inside the property and had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Wilson told police he had put Connor into a suitcase. Officers found Connor lying on the floor with his head and shoulders in a large black holdall bag.

Connor was taken to the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, by ambulance where he sadly died during the early hours of Sunday 28 February.

While in custody, Wilson continually stated to officers that he had killed Connor.

Today (Friday 20 August), at Leicester Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to Connor’s murder. He was remanded into custody and is due to be sentenced on 1 October.

Detective Inspector Kenny Henry, who led the investigation, said: “This was an extremely traumatic case with very distressing circumstances.

“Wilson had known Connor and his family for a large part of his life and so the circumstances of this incident and the investigation have been extremely difficult and distressing for both the family of Connor and of Wilson. My thoughts are very much with them and I would like to thank them for their co-operation throughout as we worked to establish the full circumstances of this case.

“My thanks also go to responding officers to this incident and the investigating team who have worked professionally and sensitively throughout leading up to today’s court hearing.”
