Hinckley Fire caused damage to Outbuildings and trees due to an unattend soldering iron

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue crews received multiple calls regarding a fire in the open on Strathmore Road in Hinckley at 15:19 on Saturday 25 July. 2026

Crews from Hinckley, Lutterworth and Wigston attended.

The fire, which was accidental due to a soldering iron left unattended, had spread to a shed, some trees and outbuildings.

Re-inspections took place throughout Saturday night and Sunday morning, with one small re-ignition extinguished by a member of the public.

Please can we ask all members of the public to be extra careful with sources of intense heat during the ongoing heatwave, as fires can start and spread very easily in these very warm, dry conditions.
