Class A drugs were seized along with cash during a number of search warrants in July.

A police investigation into a drugs supply line operating in Loughborough has led to three men being jailed.

A number of search warrants were executed across Leicestershire in July this year which led to Michael Anderson, 58, Tapiwa Chokufa, 28, Levi Kemp, 28, and Mark Woolman, 27 being arrested.

During the search warrants, class A drugs were seized along with cash, mobile phones and drug paraphernalia.

Following the arrests, Anderson, of Queens Drive, Enderby; Chokufa, of no fixed address; Kemp, of no fixed address; and Woolman, of Sandown Road, Glenfield; were all charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs (cocaine and heroin).

On Tuesday 27th September, at Leicester Crown Court, the three men were sentenced after all previously pleading guilty to the charges.

  • Chokufa and Kemp were each sentenced to a total of 2,089 days imprisonment – more than five years and eight months. The sentence is equivalent to seven years imprisonment minus a 20 per cent discount for the guilty plea made.
  • Woolman was sentenced to a total of 18 months imprisonment
  • Anderson was sentenced to a total of 15 months imprisonment suspended for two years.

Police Constable Lucy Boote said: “As a force, we will not tolerate drug offending in our communities. Thanks to detailed investigative work, we were able to bring the defendants to court and remove more drugs from our streets.

“Please, if you have any information in relation to drug offending in your area, report it to us. We will take the action required and work to bring those involved to justice. You can report online at www.leics.police.uk, call 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always call 999 in an emergency.

“Please also remember that if you are affected by drugs, support is available to you. Visit Leicestershire Rutland | Turning Point (turning-point.co.uk) for more information.”
