Developers have started work on an extension to Fosse Shopping Park in Enderby.
Bowmer + Kirkland, the contractors that originally built Fosse Park almost 30 years ago, have been appointed to construct the new development, along with Fox Lloyd Jones as project managers.
The plans will see 13 new retail units and 16 new food units within and extended Fosse Park "West" as well as a redeveloped food court.
The food court will include a pedestrian link between Fosse Park and the new extension on the former site of the Everards Brewery.
A spokesperson for Fosse Park said "in order to enable works at Fosse Park, Everard Way will be permanently closed from Monday 1st April 2019. Members of the public will still be able to use Fosse Park Avenue and Grove Way to access the shopping park, which will remain open as usual."
Almost £160million is being spent on the shopping park and the works are due to be completed by late 2020.
