Several killed and injured as Dutch tour bus overturns in Swiss Alps

‌Several people have been killed and others injured in a Dutch tour bus crash in eastern Switzerland, police said. 

The vehicle overturned between the villages of Susch and Zernez in the Alpine canton of Graubuenden, and rescue teams were responding to the scene, authorities said.

Police did not specify the number of dead and injured.

According to Swiss media, 48 people including the driver and passengers, were on the bus at the time of the accident.

A spokeswoman for ANVR, a Dutch travel industry association, told the Blick newspaper that the passengers were all from the Netherlands.

Pictures from the scene published ⁠by the Swiss newspaper showed a bus on its ⁠side surrounded by helicopters and emergency response vehicles.

A police spokesperson said that the coach collided with the crash barrier and then overturned. No other vehicles were believed to be involved.

Several ambulances and five helicopters were deployed to the location, according to Swiss media.
