A tanker has been boarded by six gunmen off the coast of Yemen.
The armed crew took control of the vessel and diverted it towards Somalia, United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Thursday.
The condition of the crew is currently unknown.
It comes after UKMTO earlier said it had received a report of an incident east of Yemen's Mukalla port city, where the tanker, reported being approached by an unauthorised vessel.
Sky News military analyst Sean Bell discussed the incident, saying: "It was only a couple of years ago that this was happening pretty regularly, and the way it was solved was largely getting private contractors onto the civilian ships...
"So the question is why it's happening," he added, saying the wider area is becoming more volatile.
