UHL said they will be unable to do a blood test if you attend without an appointment from Monday.
From Monday 3rd of April 2023, patients attending Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital or Leicester General Hospital for a blood test/s requested by their GP will need to book an appointment.
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS trust said: "The new process will improve patient experience and reduce waiting times during busy periods. People attending UHL outpatient appointments and who require a blood test will not be required to pre-book their appointment.
"Unfortunately, we will be unable to do your blood test if you attend without an appointment from this date."
To book a slot, patients should email: bookingcentre@uhl-tr.nhs.uk or call 0300 303 1563 with the following information:
- Name and date of birth
- GP details
- Preferred site to attend (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital or Leicester General Hospital)
- Preferred date/time
